Ready to Start the School Year? You Forgot Something!

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Mark 8:35-37 (NKJV)

As a homeschooling parent, it is easy to get down in the weeds and be overcome with the details of making sure we are covering all the bases for our kids: giving them the academics they need, providing them with beneficial experiences, and planning for their academic and employment futures.  These are all important things but they are not the most important.

Academics will not save them, nor will higher education, impressive degrees, or even following their own dreams.  Be assured that your kids will face very serious opposition to Christianity whether they go on to college or enter the job force straight out of your homeschool.  Even in Christian colleges, there will be challenging questions that can sway their minds away from the pure Gospel of Christ.

If your children are not equipped to answer the opposition, what will be the effect on them? The Bible commands “in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15)

The statistics support that 70-75% of Christian youth leave the church after high school (see survey data at Barna and USA Today).  This is alarming and discouraging but, there is much you can do to help equip your children and yourself!

Engage your kids and learn along with them as they take the interactive and exciting class, “I Still Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist” with Dr. Frank Turek of  With this well-organized curriculum and the enthusiasm of Dr. Turek, your teens will not be bored and will be challenged to really answer the important questions about why they believe what they believe.
